Security
Security for yourself and the customer is vital when selling goods on the internet. Customers need assurance that when entering details such as credit card number and addresses this information will not be accessible by anyone.
If you were to order a website to be designed with an ecommerce shop then all security measures should be dealt with by them. Secure browsing should be a standard on all shop sites, this can be seen by a padlock icon on most browsers. The icon sign means you are currently browsing pages which no one else can access via any methods.
If you use an external payment provider such as PayPal then you do not need to worry about security of transactions. The payment provider will have all the relative measures in place to make sure customer details are passed over a secure connection. You should however keep a record of customer contact details if any problems do ever arise.
Many people are wary about supplying card details over the internet, they feel that the details can easily be misused by anyone. This is not the case.
