Contact Forms
Contact forms offer people browsing your website the chance to get in touch with you. Including a contact form means you can recieve feedback or queries on your site, products or services from anyone easily.
A standard contact form will usually include fields such as name, email address, telephone number, enquiry. There may also be fields included which are specific to your website, for example if your company sells a large number of products then there may be a field where he customer choses what type of product his equiry is regarding.
Once a contact form is filled in and sent it will be forwarded to an email address of someone in the websites company, they will then deal with the enquiry and send an email back.
It is recommended to include a spam filter in your contact from, this is usually a distorted image with letters, known as a CAPTCHA, which the person sending the enquiry has to enter. This method is used to stop spambots which will send spam emails via the contact form. Using this method means the spambot computer program cannot decode the distorted image and therefore cannot send the spam emails.
Other things which may be included in a contact page include, a telephone number, direct email addresses or an online chat feature which may be something similair to AIM or MSN Messenger where a customer can chat to an employee direct.
